A West End casino has been forced to change the name of its popular “craps” dice game after gamblers said they were embarrassed by it. Bosses at the Hippodrome casino in Leicester Square have. If you are playing the ‘Pass Line’, at this stage you will win even money if a 7 or 11 (naturals) is rolled. If a 2/3 or 12 (craps) is rolled you will lose. Any other number (4/5/6/8/9 or 10) rolled will become your ‘Point’. Once a ‘Point’ has been made the shooter has to re-roll that number before a 7 is rolled to win. A London casino has taken the unusual step of renaming the well-known dice game craps, due the name causing some confusion and embarrassment. The Hippodrome casino, in Leicester Square, now calls the game simply “dice” in the hope that it will encourage more people to play.
Opening Times
The Hippodrome Casino is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week except for Christmas Day.
Due to increased popularity, after 2am entry to the Hippodrome may be restricted to gold and black card holders. Non card holders with Photo ID may sign up for a gold card at any time, subject to capacity.
