Imac 27 Memory Slots How Many
I have a mid-2011 iMac which came with 4GB RAM (2x2GB). I just bought 8 GB (2x4GB) and added it to get a total of 12GB. The current configuration is as follows: Given that the RAM is a different size, do I have the optimal locations for the different RAM chips? At the moment what I did was to simply add the 2 new sticks of RAM in the two empty. Hello all,
I just upgraded the memory on my Mac Mini to 16Gb and I now have two 2Gb memory cards with nothing to do. I'm wondering if I can use them in my wife's iMac. Her iMac currently tells me it has 4Gb for Memory. I don't know if that is two 2Gb cards or one or four! Before I open up her computer to look, can anyone tell me how many memory card slots there are in the iMac? If it already says it has 4Gb, will there be room to add my 4Gb to give her computer 8Gb?
btw, it's a late 2009 iMac 21.5 inch with 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running OSX 10.8.5
